How many of us are aware of the feature called ‘Developer Tab’ in Microsoft Word? I am sure there will be quite a few who have used this feature. But others may simply wonder as to what this Developer Tab is and where can you find it? Is it related to creating and managing documents or is it related to Page Layout options? For all those who do not know what Developer Tab is, you will find your answers below.

Developer tab contains many advanced functions of Word. The developer tab in Microsoft Word provides users with the option to write and run macros, Control options, mapping, Restrict Editing options and more. The developer tab is not readily available on the ribbon in Word by default, but can be enabled whenever you want to display it on the Ribbon.

To access the Developer tab on the ribbon of an Office application, the steps are given below:

Step 1:

On the File tab, choose the Options button.

Step 2:

Under the Options dialog box, choose the Customize Ribbon button.

In the list of main tabs, select the Developer check box and Place a checkmark next to Developer.

Click OK.

Step 3:

Once you click OK, the Options dialogue box will close and the Developer tab will now be available on the ribbon until you disable the Developer Tab settings.
